Fawns of Love released their third album, Innocence of Protection (Kingfisher Bluez, Sunday Records) in 2021, which according to
Post-Punk.com, “...is both a mesmerizing whirl and a danceable dream, encapsulating the best ethereal pop sounds of the 80s.” The duo released Someday (Robin Guthrie Version) b/w Never Sing For Joy 7” (Kingfisher Bluez) and a second KXLU Part Time Punks radio session titled, Part Time Punks Session: Permanent Revisited 12” EP (Obeah Records) in 2020. “Someday (Robin Guthrie Version)” was recorded and mixed by Robin Guthrie of Cocteau Twins, who created his own version of the track that originally appeared on the previously released Permanent LP (Test Pattern), which Grimy Goods wrote “delivers twice as much ethereal wonder as the original.” In 2019 they released their critically acclaimed LP Permanent, which according to LA Weekly, “...creates gorgeous swathes of moody, melancholic music.”

“Silly Boy”- Is about how loss at a young age affects your adult relationships. I also like that thetitle plays tribute to Television Personalities.
“Girls”- Is inspired by Picnic at Hanging Rock (Peter Weir version) and celebrates Victorian eroticism where removal of a glove or stocking is portrayed as taboo.
“Miranda”- Is also about Picnic at Hanging Rock and is written from Michael’s perspective. I wanted to capture his innocent fixation with Miranda.
“How We Live Now”- Is about how demagogues use propaganda to gain their voters’ undying devotion.
“His Face”- Is inspired by live footage from a Sparks’ performance of “Amateur Hour.”
“Falling”- Is about the perils of entering a situation or relationship that you know is a bad idea, but you go for it anyways.
